Here is a short video that helps recap some of the techniques we used to discuss composition in our photographs. This video will also help as revision for the communication task in Year 10.

It’s time again for our yearly dander (hope the sun shines). It will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday 7th June and its purpose is to raise funds to replace some of our ageing ICT equipment. All our Year 8 – 10 pupils have a sponsorship form, it would be lovely if the whole school community could help fill them up.
The Dander this year has been sponsored by BIESTY’S BALLYMONEY. They have kindly donated a bottle of water and a piece of fruit for each pupil taking part.
Here are the payment dates for our upcoming ski trip.
Also note that each pupil going on the ski trip must have their own passport and it must at least be valid until March 2018. If your child does not yet have a passport or it will expire before March, then please renew it over the summer holidays. A copy will need to be brought into school in September.
Here are the presentations that were given at the Year 12 – Post GCSE Options parent’s evening. They can also be found in the School Info – Information Evening Presentations section.
Here are the details of our 2018 Ski Tour to Sierra Nevada in Spain. The trip is for our current year 8 and 9 pupils and will take place over the February half term break in 2018.
The reason for choosing Sierra Nevada this year is due to the weak sterling price. A US tour would have cost significantly more. It is our intention to alternate between a European and a US destination from now on.
This document was given out to pupils on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th January. Those interested in joining the tour should return the completed booking form to Mr Bradley on Monday 30th January between 8.30 and 9pm.
Once we have received a completed booking form then an initial deposit of £120 should be paid within one week. Payments will be made via our new ParentPay app. Activation codes for this will be sent out when we receive a completed booking form.
If you require any further information then contact Mr Bradley.

Three of our Moving Image Arts pupils have had their films shown in the Foyle Film Festival – Moving Image Arts Showcase. A group of our year 12 and 13 pupils attended the showcase and it was great to see the finalists films shown on the big screen at the Queens Film Theatre.
Odhran Combe’s GCSE film was well received by the audience, but didn’t win a prize. Conor Thompson’s AS film was awarded 2nd prize in the ‘AS Live Action’ category and Gage McAlister’s film was awarded ‘Best Animation’. Well done to all three boys.
The three films can be seen below:
Bang and the Dirt is Gone – Odhran Combe – Nominated ‘GCSE Best Film’.
Winter Fuel – Conor Thompson – Runner up ‘AS Best Film’.
The Ballon Effect – Gage McAlister – Winner “A2 Best Animation”.

We are aiming to increase our admission number from 125 to 130 pupils (in Year 8) with an increase in enrolment number from 815 to 897 pupils, starting from September 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.
We would ask you to read and complete the questionnaire in the consultation paper. The completed questionnaire can then be returned to this address no later than 11 October 2016:
St James’s Road

In the tech savvy world of today, online shopping has been booming to the tune of £52 Billion in sales for 2015.
The convenience and user friendly nature of online shopping has seen its popularity skyrocket in recent times but did you know that by shopping online you can help to support our School?
Dalriada is pleased to announce that we have partnered with easyfundraising.org.uk so that every time you make a purchase online, you can help provide the school with an average donation of 2.5% of the total you spend.
There is no catch, the average 2.5% is not an added cost, it is donated by the selected group of online retailers who also work in partnership with easyfundraising.org.uk.
Here is a short video that explains it all.
