Our Year 8 pupils celebrated ‘Book Week’ from 1st – 5th October. During this time they completed a sponsored read during various classes. The money raised will be donated to Praxis Care, which is a charity based in Northern Ireland that provides support to vulnerable children and adults affected by mental health, learning disability, brain injury and dementia. The pupils also visited Ballymoney library and were able to purchase books and stationery from the Scholastic Book Fair.
Reading / Book Club
Today Dalriada School had 2024 reasons to celebrate reading, after pupils read their way through hundreds of books to rise over £2,024 to support a local children’s cancer charity.
During October the school took part in the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund
for Children’s (NICFC) sponsored ReadOn initiative, which challenges pupils to read as many books as possible in a week, to help local children living with cancer.
