The Dalriada Team of Jordan Bamford, Campbell Hunter, Duncan Pollock and Tony Iannelli were Runners up in Northern Irelands Global Entrepreneurship competition.
On Monday 15 November, the start of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2010, Dalriada School and young people from post-primary schools and further education colleges across Northern Ireland took part in the Go For It Challenge. Each team who entered brainstormed ideas and used their skills and knowledge to come up with a viable business plan based on the theme of “get creative in today’s digital environment”. The overall winner in the 14-16 age groups was Thornhill College with Megabite, software for ordering lunch in school. Runners up were Dalriada with the OMD, Optical Media Device. All shortlisted teams who went to W5 to present their idea received £50 high street vouchers for each team member. The winning team won £1,000 for their school or college and £100 of high street vouchers for each team member. The Dalraida team won £500 for the school and an additional £50 of high street vouchers for each team member. A very successful and profitable day! Dalriada’s presentation was praised for ‘obvious teamwork and a confident approach to questions’.
