Under 16 Volleyball Team make last four at the Northern Ireland Sports Awards

After winning Young team of the Year at the Ballymoney Borough Council Sports Awards Dalriada School Under 16 Girls Volleyball Squad celebrated their successful history culminating in the All-Ireland title from the 2011-2012 season by being invited as one of four shortlisted teams for the Northern Ireland Sports Awards at the Ramada Hotel, Shaws Bridge, Belfast. The team were delighted to be shortlisted in the ‘Young Team of the Year’ category alongside Lurgan College Hockey Team, St. Colman’s Newry GAA team and the Northern Ireland Commonwealth Youth Games team. The award eventually went to Lurgan College Hockey team who were worthy winners. Head Coach Dr Walker said that it was a great honour to represent the school and the sport of volleyball amongst the sporting elite of our province. Our girls had a great night and we would like to thank Ballymoney Borough Council for nominating us. Dalriada and Volleyball was given quite a few mentions on the night.
