Sixth Form Mathematics

Post GCSE the Mathematics department offers Mathematics and Further Mathematics at AS and A2 Level. At this level pupils receive 8 lessons per week.

Normal criteria for acceptance onto these courses is a grade A in GCSE Mathematics (having completed T4 and T6 modules). GCSE Further Mathematics is an advantage but not essential.

At AS level students must successfully complete 3 modules. A further 3 modules are completed at A2 level. All examinations are 90 minutes long.

  • Year 13: Core Maths 1, Core Maths 2, Mechanics 1
  • Year 14: Core Maths 3, Core Maths 4, Mechanics 2

The availability of Further Mathematics is dependent on the number of students interested in a particular year.
