Dalriada’s 10W fulfilled their annual tradition of sending shoeboxes to Operation Christmas Child. The class have completed this every year since they joined the school in Year 8 and look forward to it every year. The class enjoy filling their shoeboxes full of goodies knowing the joy that it will bring to lots of boys and girls around the world. Beth Patterson, a pupil from 10W, said: ‘We watched the DVD in class that showed the boys and girls receiving their shoeboxes. It was so nice to watch their faces light up with big smiles as they looked into their box.’ Oliver Warke, also a pupil from 10W said, ‘The simplest thing such as a hat or a toothbrush is so appreciated by the children who receive the shoeboxes. Filling the shoeboxes is 10W’s way of giving something to others.’ 10W can be assured that their good deed will bring lots of happiness to boys and girls around Christmas time.
A large number of other shoe boxes are also filled by other pupils and families of the school so that many other children across the world can have presents at Christmas time.
